Our Philosophy: Culinary Excellence, Hospitality and Precision in Tokyo

At Tokyo Catering Club, we believe that catering is never only about placing food on a table.

Food is at the heart of what we do. It is our craft, our starting point and one of the main reasons clients trust us with important events. But in a city like Tokyo, and for the level of clients we serve, food alone is not enough.

A successful event requires taste, sourcing, timing, logistics, service, cultural understanding, dietary awareness, presentation and operational precision. It requires the ability to listen, anticipate, adapt and execute.

This is the philosophy behind Tokyo Catering Club.

We are a premium catering and event hospitality company based in Tokyo, supporting corporate events, luxury brand activations and gala events, executive meetings, diplomatic receptions, product launches, private dinners, cocktail receptions, premium bento services through The Box, large-scale event catering, and hospitality projects for overseas clients organizing events in Japan.

Our role is not simply to provide catering. Our role is to become a trusted food and hospitality partner for clients who need culinary quality, reliability, discretion and smooth execution in a demanding environment.

Food Comes First

Before anything else, Tokyo Catering Club is deeply committed to food.

Our philosophy starts with taste. A menu can be elegant, visually refined and perfectly presented, but it must first be genuinely enjoyable to eat. We believe in food that feels generous, precise, balanced and memorable.

For professional events, this matters. Guests may only taste a small bite, a bento, a cocktail piece, a canapé, a plated course or a coffee break item. That moment is short, but it can define the impression of the event.

This is why we pay close attention to product quality, seasonality, freshness, texture, balance, menu variety and consistency. We also think about the real conditions of service: how the food travels, how it is presented, how it holds, how it is served, and how it feels for the guest.

A dish designed for a restaurant is not always suitable for a corporate reception, a showroom launch, a diplomatic cocktail, a multi-day conference or a large-scale event. Event catering requires a different discipline: the food must be refined, but also reliable, stable, readable and adapted to the format.

This is why our menus are always designed according to the event itself, whether it is a corporate lunch, a premium bento delivery through The Box, a cocktail reception, a seated dinner, or a large-scale hospitality program.

For us, culinary quality is not separated from execution. It is part of the same standard.

Sourcing With Intention

Good catering starts long before the event day.

It starts with ingredients, suppliers, producers and partners. At Tokyo Catering Club, sourcing is not treated as a secondary detail. It is part of the quality of the final experience.

We work with trusted suppliers and selected partners who understand the level of consistency required for professional events. Depending on the project, we integrate seasonal Japanese ingredients, premium imported products, farm-raised produce, organic options, artisanal items and carefully selected specialty products.

Whenever possible and relevant, we favor local sourcing and seasonal ingredients. This is not only a question of sustainability. It is also a question of taste, freshness and respect for the environment in which we operate.

Japan offers exceptional ingredients, from vegetables and seafood to rice, fruits, tea, wagyu, condiments and regional specialties. Our role is to use these ingredients with intention, while combining them with international culinary standards and the practical requirements of event hospitality.

This philosophy is also reflected in our approach to Japanese ingredients and global culinary inspiration, where local seasonality can meet international creativity and precise event execution.

We do not believe that premium catering should be disconnected from place. A menu served in Tokyo should feel adapted to Tokyo — not in a superficial way, but through product selection, seasonality, restraint, precision and respect for local standards.

French Culinary Culture, Japanese Precision

Tokyo Catering Club was founded by French entrepreneurs and is fully established as a Japanese company operating in Tokyo.

This dual perspective defines much of our identity.

From French culinary culture, we bring a deep attachment to taste, structure, generosity, technique, pairing, bread, pastry, sauces, wine, hospitality and the importance of gathering around food.

From Japan, we embrace punctuality, precision, cleanliness, discretion, respect for the venue, attention to detail and operational discipline.

We do not see these elements as separate. We see them as complementary.

Our role is not to reproduce a French restaurant experience in Japan, nor to offer a generic international catering service. Our role is to create hospitality experiences that feel adapted to Tokyo, while carrying a European sense of food, service and occasion.

This is especially important for overseas companies planning events in Tokyo, who often need a local partner capable of translating an international brief into a realistic, high-quality operation in Japan.

Many of these projects require more than a menu. They require cultural understanding, communication with local venues, timing discipline, food safety awareness, delivery planning and the ability to move naturally between English, Japanese, French and international expectations.

Our goal is to make this complexity feel simple.

Founder-Led Hospitality

Tokyo Catering Club is led directly by its founders.

This matters.

In premium catering, clients are not only buying food. They are placing trust in a team. They are trusting that the people behind the proposal understand the importance of their event, the expectations of their guests and the reputation of their organization.

Our management structure reflects this responsibility.

Ornella Pognant-Gros, Representative Director, oversees production, logistics and operational management. Her role is central to the coordination of teams, suppliers, preparation flows and on-site execution. She brings structure, discipline and consistency to the way each project is prepared and delivered.

Antreas Garabedian, CEO, leads client relations, culinary direction, menu development, chef partnerships and food consulting. His role is to translate client expectations into a coherent hospitality experience, from the first conversation to the final execution.

Together, this creates a direct link between decision-making, culinary vision and operational reality.

For clients, this means that Tokyo Catering Club is not a faceless supplier. It is a founder-led company where key projects are followed with care, responsibility and direct involvement.

This is particularly important for corporate events, luxury activations and gala events, executive-level catering formats and VIP hospitality projects, where details matter and decisions often need to be made quickly, clearly and precisely.

The client does not deal with a sales department disconnected from the kitchen, the logistics or the service. The project is followed by people who understand both the promise being made and the operational reality required to deliver it.

That proximity is part of our value.

A Real Example: Kencho-Ji Temple, Kamakura

One example of this approach was our support for a gala dinner at Kencho-Ji Temple in Kamakura during the Flamenco Jazz Festival Japan, an international cultural event bringing together music, gastronomy and VIP hospitality.

For this project, Tokyo Catering Club worked alongside Michelin-starred Spanish chef Israel Ramos of Restaurant Mantúa, who came to Japan to create a special culinary experience connected to the festival. The dinner took place in a historic temple environment, with minimal kitchen infrastructure on site and a highly demanding guest list including South American ambassadors, representatives of the Embassy of Spain, the Mayor of Kamakura, temple monks and VIP guests.

TCC supported the project through logistics, service, plating support, tableware coordination and operational execution for a fourteen-dish experience per guest, paired with wines. Communication between Chef Israel Ramos and the TCC team was conducted exclusively in Spanish, adding another layer to the international nature of the project.

For us, this kind of event illustrates what premium catering in Japan truly requires. Not only culinary quality — but cultural respect, multilingual coordination and the ability to execute an ambitious experience in a venue where standard kitchen conditions simply do not exist.

More Than a Supplier: A Hospitality Partner

Many clients first contact a catering company because they need food.

But as the conversation develops, the real need often becomes broader.

They need clarity on what is feasible.
They need a menu that fits the format.
They need staff who can operate professionally.
They need beverage service, equipment, glassware, furniture or floral coordination.
They need dietary requirements handled seriously.
They need someone who can speak with the venue.
They need timing that works.
They need guests to feel taken care of.
They need confidence.

This is why we consider ourselves a hospitality partner, not simply a food supplier.

For clients organizing events in Tokyo, the catering partner becomes part of the event’s reputation. A late delivery, a poorly managed dietary restriction, an unclear setup, a weak service flow or a menu that does not match the event positioning can affect the entire experience.

Our role is to prevent that.

We support our clients by thinking beyond the plate: guest profile, venue conditions, service timing, visual identity, cultural context, operational constraints and the level of formality required.

The best catering is not only delicious. It feels natural, smooth and appropriate.

This is the same approach we bring to corporate catering in Tokyo, luxury and gala events, large-scale event catering, premium bento services through The Box, and international hospitality projects for overseas clients.

Designed for Real Events in Tokyo

Tokyo is one of the most demanding cities in the world for events.

It is also one of the most exciting.

The level of expectation is high. Venues can be complex. Access rules are precise. Timing matters. Guest profiles are often international. Service must be discreet. Food safety and cleanliness are essential. Communication must be clear.

A successful event in Tokyo requires more than a good menu. It requires a team that understands the city.

At Tokyo Catering Club, menu design is always connected to operational planning. A canapé for a luxury showroom must be elegant, clean and easy to eat. A bento for an executive meeting must be balanced, premium and practical. A dinner in a venue without a kitchen requires preparation, equipment and precise timing. A large-scale corporate event requires consistency, production capacity and quality control.

This is why our large-scale event catering approach focuses not only on volume, but also on guest flow, timing, staff coordination and consistency.

It is also why our overseas client support is built around clarity. Many international teams know exactly what they want to create, but need a local partner who can explain what is possible, what needs to be adapted and how to execute it properly in Japan.

Our job is to connect ambition with reality.

Dietary Requirements Are Part of Hospitality

Dietary requirements are not an inconvenience. They are part of modern hospitality.

Today’s events often involve international guests with diverse needs: vegetarian, vegan, halal-friendly, gluten-free, dairy-free, no pork, no alcohol, seafood restrictions, nut allergies, religious requirements, medical intolerances or personal preferences.

For Tokyo Catering Club, handling these requirements properly is an essential part of guest care.

A guest with a dietary restriction should not feel like an afterthought. They should receive food that is considered, balanced and aligned with the quality of the rest of the event.

This requires more than simply removing an ingredient. It requires menu planning, supplier awareness, labeling, kitchen discipline, communication and service coordination.

This is especially important for corporate catering in Tokyo, international conferences, diplomatic receptions, executive meetings and premium bento services where guest lists often include multiple nationalities, cultures and dietary expectations.

We believe dietary management is one of the areas where a serious catering partner can make a significant difference.

Passion for F&B, Beyond Catering

Tokyo Catering Club was built from a genuine passion for food, hospitality and the F&B world.

This passion is not abstract. It is reflected in the way we build menus, select suppliers, collaborate with chefs and adapt culinary ideas to the reality of events in Japan.

Our work can involve premium bentos for executive meetings, refined cocktail pieces for luxury activations, chef collaborations, seasonal menus, large-scale hospitality programs or complex events in venues with limited kitchen infrastructure.

We are constantly moving between culinary creativity and operational discipline. That balance is what makes catering in Tokyo such a specific field — and what makes it interesting.

Tokyo Catering Club was created for clients who need both: serious food and serious execution.

The Tokyo Catering Club Standard

Our philosophy can be summarized simply:

Food must be excellent.
Sourcing must be thoughtful.
Menus must be adapted to the event.
Dietary requirements must be handled seriously.
Service must be professional.
Operations must be precise.
Communication must be clear.
The client must feel supported.
The guest must feel cared for.

This is the Tokyo Catering Club standard.

We believe that premium catering in Tokyo should combine culinary excellence with complete hospitality. It should respect the food, the client, the venue, the guest and the purpose of the event.

That is why we do not see ourselves as simply delivering food.

We see ourselves as a partner in the success of the event.
